Lost suction

I cleaned my DC07 yesterday. I cleaned the bristles at the bottom and then opened and cleaned the canister. Put it all back together and now the bristles don't rotate and there is no suction. What did I do??? It's an old vacuum but this is the first time that I have had issues after I cleaned it. I really cannot afford to buy another one right now. HELP

You may have turned the clutch off , coloured knob on the cleaner head . Btw the brushes won't turn unless you drop the cleaner head while turned on , they don't move in the upright position
