SCam handle will not lay down unless severely forced...

i, Newbie here... I have DC17 on which the handle which will not lay down unless forced. Once it is down, if you reinstate it to the upright position, it once again will not lay down. I have had the unit apart and back together and can't locate the cause of the issue. Do any of you kind folks here have an advice for me? Thanks in advance! Looking Forward, Eric

I might add that this a an early DC17 purchased in the USA

I think you need to be more descriptive, I don't understand what the issue is. Are you saying the machine is difficult to recline?
