I have a DC59 factory battery. Every now and then, the vacuum cleaner works for a few seconds and then stops working even after fully charged. When it happens, the blue LED blinks. I began to suspect it's a dead battery. But no. That's why:
I plug in the charger & then IMMEDIATELY unplug, the battery works again. But this intermittent problem recurs. I suspect this is a contact issue. I tried contact cleaner from Caig - an excellent cleaner - but no avail.
Suggestion for a fix?

Re: Dyson DC59 battery
Hi, The fault is with the battery. Your best option is to buy a new battery, there are many on the market and in cases like this, buying cheap does really mean buying twice.
If you wanted to repair the battery then a new PCB would be needed, however the case can sometimes break when taking apart. When you weigh up the cost of trying to repair the battery, it is worth paying a little bit extra to get a complete new battery
