How can I clean the inside of the hose and power head?
I vacuumed up something that was gross and gooey. The inside of the power head is thus, gross and gooey. It appears that there are no electronics in the power head. Can it be soaked in water, brushed clean and dried in the sun? Same question for the hose.

Hi.
The hose should be fine as it's all plastic. However, there will be metal parts (screws and more importantly bearing) in the power head which I would expect to be vulnerable to rust if they get wet as Dysons aren't designed for wet use of course. I'd dismantle the power head as much as you can and just give the plastic bits a good clean-up rather than submersing it in water.
