Has anyone had any luck replacing the ceramic brushes on the DC17 motor? If you have, where did you find the parts?

Has anyone had any luck replacing the ceramic brushes on the DC17 motor? If you have, where did you find the parts?

I have the DC19, and I replace the motor with non genuine every 3 years - about the time they actually last. Replacing the motor on the DC19 makes the vacuum as good as new as its a basic vacuum, yet restores the suction. Roughly AUD$90. Straight plug and play.

most parts for this model can be found online. However there is sometimes only a small difference in cost compared to replacing the brush or the motor. Normally the brushes fail due to an issue with the motor itself, replacing the brushes only may not fix this problem. Or it may only be a temp fix. Replacing the motor always seems to be the best option
