I am looking to replace my corded canister vacuum cleaner with a cordless, stick-type vacuum. My residence has both carpeted and tiled flooring. Very little dirt is tracked into the apartment; however, MUCH cat hair is shed in the apartment. I am looking for thoughts/recommendations for this type of vacuum. In browsing the web, the Dyson V8 Animal and the Dyson V7 and V8 Absolute seem to have good reviews. Has anyone had experience with either of these? Or any others thought to be good?

I don't have any idea about the v7. But I've been using the v8 for several years and still works perfectly. I think v8 is better than v7. But for more details on these 2 Dyson see this comparison between Dyson v8 vs v7.

Almost there are different vacuum from different brands available. BLACK+DECKER offers a full line of hand-held vacuums incorporating our famous dustbuster in shadings to supplement any room style. I have Black Decker Max Flex to clean pet hair. BLACK+DECKER BDH2020FL and BDH2020FLFH 20V Max Flex are two fundamentally the same as handheld, bagless, and cordless vacuums.
