I am new to this forum, but I have found the technical help topics to be quite helpful. However, I do have a question that I hope I might be able to get some help with. I have a D14. Yesterday the canister would no longer click onto the body of vacuum at the cyclone release catch. If I take the handle the canister slides off the body. I have tried to find signs of any broken parts, but without success.
Hi , the dc14 has this problem now and again. As long as there is no damage to the cyclone top it's more than likely to be the bin catch on the main body that the cyclone top clips into. You'll find if you remove the switch cover ( two screws from the back of the main body and UNPLUG THE MACHINE FIRST ) one of the bin catch arms are broken or worst case the moulding it clips into will be broken . You can buy the catch , should be no more than a tenner but if it's the moulding then it's a new main body .
