 Post subject: Loud flapping sound coming from motor

Dyson model: DC07
Hi, I have a DC07, there is a very loud flapping sound coming from motor area when operating in upright mode. all works fine when doing the stairs etc with the wand. would like to know possible problem and if it's worth getting repaired, thank you

Hi, your flapping noise sounds like the bleed valve kicking in due to a blockage.If not enough air is getting to the motor to keep it cool,this can happen.To stat with,lean your DC07 back as if you were vacuuming as normal ,but don't plug in !!!.Next remove the soleplate from the machine by twisting the 3 coloured screws one quarter.You should be able to see into the small hose .Now follow the channel all the way back to the bin ,using wire coat hanger .
I'm sure you will find something interesting causing the problem!.Happy hunting ;)
