Hi All,
If someone washes out the dust basket of a Dyson vacuum cleaner or any vacuum cleaner in matter of fact and puts the dust basket back in the vacuum wet with some water still in it and turns the vacuum on, will the water get onto the vacuum motor and damage the motor?
Does the Dyson Electric motor have brushes?
Best regards James

Hi. Yes the water will go straight through the motor. It will probably rust it which could lead to premature failure, but more importantly electricity and water don't mix! Most vacuum cleaners have motors with brushes but some Dysons have the Dyson "Digital motor" which is brushless.
