 Post subject: Electrical cable worn

Dyson model: dc07ja
Electrical cable on dc07 has worn as it enters the cleaner. Any ideas how you get at the conections to the on off switch. Have released the screw that seems to be holding the plastic cover but Im afraid to force it in case it breaks. Any help would be great.

Hi. You need to squeeze the cover from both sides at the back as you pull it away to release the tabs. You might need a bit of force but it shouldn't break. There's a good pictorial guide here if you need it:
