Hi we have just been given a dyson DC03 which i wish to use for a separate granny flat.We already have one and after cleaning the "new" one have traced a problem to the grey housing with the carry handle that sits on top of the dirt bin.If i switch our existing part from our own machine its works great.I believe this holds the 'cyclones"? i will probably just have to buy the whole part but i'm asking can this be cleaned or opened for cleaning many thanks for any replies and happy new yeay to all Stephen.

Welcome Stephen! Yes, the secondary cyclone is inside that grey housing. If the machine has been used to pick up very fine dust (plaster for example is a reall killer) the secondary cyclone can clog up. If you can get it apart it's just a question of giving it a good clean out. If you use water make sure it's completely dry before re-assembling it. I'm afriad I don't have my DC03 any more but it shouldn't be too tricky to get apart. Otherwise, you can buy a new assembly off ebay for £21 if you don't mind the colour! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-DYSON-DC0 ... 19b435338dGood luck

Hello, is it the purple Zorb DC03? I was given one of thise a while a go and it seems the Zorb blocks up the entry ports to the secondary cyclone. It's pretty easy to resolve.
