Dyson model: DC08

I have an old Dyson Animal DC08 and my dog count has also increased. I've been struggling for a while to keep on top of the dog hairs, the Dyson is just not picking them all up. Cleaning the filter helps a little but not much.

I feel I need to replace some parts, probably the main turbine head which is looking pretty bashed about.

Also wondering about the Cyclone?

But I don't want to spend on parts if ultimately it's not going to help and I end up buying a new hoover.

Any ideas on what might be the best bits to replace / clean to get it back to full working order, or would I be better off with a new hoover. I can't remember, but I think it's well over 10 years old.

Thank you for any advice

The DC08 animal is a great machine with lots of suction! However like most cylinders its biggest problem is having a brush bar that beats the carpet. To do this it uses a turbine head, so it is air driven. However loss of suction, or hair wrapped round the brush can affect its performance. The heads do eventually get worn, so a replacement head might be needed. Or if you are willing to spend a little more look to get an upright, where the brush is driven by a motor.

Something like a DC14 would be ideal. If you prefer a cylinder then a Sebo E1 Komfort is ideal, you can conact BB Dyson at the following website for more information on the correct machine for you
