I have been trying Dysons' for the last year. I had a DC65. Great vacuum with incredible suction. However, I found that with nearly every use it was necessary to use an exacto and pliers to remove hair from the small plastic wheels. Eventually the dirt and hair works its way in between the wheel and axle and it jams. It can no longer be cleaned. What a horrible design oversight! I sold it and purchased a Ball Allergy. Same bad design. Hundreds of posts online and still not fixed. Sold it today. I have a new Animal Plus in the box. Does anyone know if they have fixed this issue? If not the Animal is going back. How about on the Animal 2? So frustrating to have a machine that performs so well with such an obvious flaw. All they had to do is use some wheels with sealed bearings.

I just looked at the new "Animal" wheels. Same old garbage. I just cannot understand how a company that markets "engineering" missed it so badly. AND to call it "ANIMAL" when the wheels cannot handle pet hair!

Hi, no Dyson continue to use the same small wheels on their machines. They seem to concentrate more on the performance side of their machines when it comes to pet hair pick up rather than the maintenance side. The small wheels being one and also the clear brush housing. Which over time gets dirty with oil from the dogs coat
