Just registered as I have an issue with a DC62.

I own two of these DC62 handhelds. One is named GF (Ground Floor) and the other one is FF (First Floor).

FF works great without any issues. However, GF has the following issue: once the battery is charged, it powers off after 15 seconds and the battery needs to be fully recharged.

First thought was a dead battery. This is not the case as:
- FF with GF battery works great (approx. 16 minutes)
- GF with GF battery and FF battery has exactly the same issue: power is off after 15 seconds and battery needs to be charged again

I would understand why it goes off (too hot or whatever) but how come does it uncharge the battery? Any ideas?

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this. It may be that both batteries are actually faulty. The reason i say this, you have not mentioned what power settings each unit is on.

GF - May be on the highest setting, which when a battery i faulty will work on the low setting but will cut out quickly on th high setting.

If FF is on the low setting both batteries should last for about 15mins, if you was to place it on high you may find that FF will only last a few secs.If this happens this whoud show both batteries are faulty on high
