Dyson model: DC07
Hello all,

I have recently just bought a dyson DC07 from marketplace, with the typical seller saying the item is perfect etc.

I have changed the filters and brush (as the latter was stiff), and found out the belt had snapped so had to change that. I bought a kit off eBay for around £13.00 which had everything in.

So I changed the brush and inserted it fine with it being nice and tight. Got the belt around the spindle, spinned it a fair few times to make sure it sits right.

I then went to test it and soon smelt burning of the belt and also smoke. From closer inspection, it seems the belt is vibrating on the spindle and not running smooth. I’ll try and upload a video. The thing is the brush is tight etc, and it doesn’t look as if there’s an issue with the motor. Is it with me just purchasing dyson original belts for the DC07, as wonder if this will fix the issue. I just don’t want to pay a lot, as appreciate the price of this and repairs is now rising ....

When you say a kit, does that mean it came with the brushbar as well? Could you upload a picture of the brush housing?
