I don't know for sure. Dyson will tell you know but on the older handhelds the powered heads were interchangeable.

I bought the DC58 and loved it, and then went on a long and frustrating hunt for compatible DC58 accessories ... and eventually found the (powered) motorhead assembly (DY 917096-06) on the net for $30. It's a tight but good fit on the DC58, which DOES power the motorhead. Next question was a wand; Dyson Customer Service said none of their wands will work. I bought a DC44 wand (DY 920506-02) on eBay; it does have the needed electrical connections. Voila ! The wand is minimally loose on the DC58, "tightened" by adding 3 layers of electrical tape on the bottom of the wand connection; the motorhead attaches, powers and works perfectly. Saved about $100 US compared to the DC59.

Thanks for that DocHarp. I'm sure there will be a few people doing the same now!
