So we have had an orignal Dyson DC07 for 8 years and today was the day it finally left us. R.I.P

Anyway, I contacted Dyson to get an engineer out and it worked out at £79. I payed and organised for Monday.

I went on there website and they have a brand new one for £210 delivered

So, after a bit more research, I may as well as buy a new one. With 5 years parts & labour guarantee

Now, has anyone got the Ball type? If so what do you think over the orignal upright one?

This was the first one I seen - http://www.dyson.co.uk/store/product...ALLFLOORS-IRWH

Another - http://www.dyson.co.uk/store/product...C33-MULTIFLOOR

And this is the ball one we would have - http://www.dyson.co.uk/store/product...DC25-ALLFLOORS

Hi Matt,

Unfortunately you're links arn't working (not your fault - it's the forum software which doesn't handle them very well - try using linl around them next time). Anyway...

I think it's really a question of personal preference. The DC33 and DC25 are both going to do a great job of cleaning the carpets so it's a question of how much you value the better manoeuvrability of the ball. However, the DC25 is half a kilo lighter if that's important to you.

If you want to compare prices they're all on our price comparison page:
http://www.dysonforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7

The DC33 is currently about £27 cheaper than the DC33. If you have time it might be worth going to your local Currys/Comet etc to have a go of the DC25 and see how you get on with the ball thing. The DC33 is effectively the latest version of the DC07 so you know what you'll be getting there.

Let us know what you decide on!

Thanks for the informative reply.

If you go onto Dyson website and click vacuum cleaners, the first one linked is the DC14.

The next one was the DC33, if we was to go for that one, it would be the stubborn one as it's cheaper.

Lastly was the DC25.

OK, thanks. The DC14 is discontinued now and Dyson's website is one of the few places you can still buy a new one. However, it's more expensive than the newer DC33 so there's not much point.

The Multifloor version of the DC33 is actually the cheapest (as it is for all Dyson models). See here:

Yep it sure is.

Comet have the Stubborn for £199.99

If you go to Currys, where it is £279.99 they will price match plus refund 10% of the difference. So that makes the Stubborn £192 ish at Currys.

Or The DC25 multi floors is £216.99 at Amazon.

Ahh, what to do??

Just thought I'd let you know I went for the DC33 Stubborn for £191.99 at Currys.

Yes, good choice indeed, you could say the wand is a bit dodgy on the DC33 but then again you could say the same thing about the stand on the DC25, basically it was a choice between manoeuvrability and that extra bit of suction power for us as we had the same 2 lined up, we chose the DC33 for the extra suction in the end.

If you dont mind a slighty shorter cord and smaller bin i would deffo opt for the DC25!

The filters on both machines need more maintenance than your DC07.

Also!! The bristles on the brushroll are stiffer on the 25, i personally think it cleans better. Plus the head has a lower profile on the 25 so fits under more stuff!
