HI,

Actually, it sucks so hard that I can't use it. We have an area rug in my computer room and the vacuum (a DC17 Animal) gloms itself onto the area rug and makes a perfect seal on it ... which makes the beater bar turn off. The suction against the rug is so much that I have a hard time pushing the vaccum back and forth, even with the beater bar off.I love it, I just wish it were a little less ... enthusiastic?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

From my experience there are two major design oversights on Dysons and they appear to have no interest in correcting them.
1. You cannot use them on area rugs or bathroom rugs due to the suction. Yes, they suck up the rug, often damaging it or jamming the brush bar. For most people this is part of a whole house vacuuming job. I have to pull out the old Hoover Wind Tunnel to do these. It really does seem that they could have added a low setting or a vent to allow rugs.
2. The small plastic wheels. What a mess! Flip over your Dyson and chances are that they are clogged and starting to drag. Marketing calls it an "Animal" but some how they could not bother to seal the bearings. They are nearly impossible to clean and expensive to replace.
