HI,

Does James Dyson have anything to offer General Aviation (or indeed aviation generally)? I ask as he is someone who has managed to take a radical look at the application of fluid dynamics and specifically in relation to air. His vacuum cleaners and fans were/are radical for their time. Could his knowledge and ability to step back and look at these topics make a substantial difference to knowledge and application in lift or thrust (or even drag) in aviation?any idea.?

please help

I did not find the right solution from the internet.

Dyson model: DC07
I believe Sir James Dyson will be 71 years old this coming May; it's probably a bit late for him to be turning his talents to aviation.
Having said that, I have no doubt that if he was attracted to that industry he would have served it very well.

The "turbine"/"stator" unit that creates the airflow for my DC07 (and other models) is
like the centrifugal compressor of many gas turbine/jet engines used in aircraft... and works in exactly
the same way. The concept is efficient enough that some jets only need a single centrifugal compressor stage;
axial compressors (more like conventional fans) invariably need multiple stages (and more space) to create
the required pressures.
